Template Library

Find and use a template

Start from wording your organization has already approved instead of drafting from scratch.

The Template Library holds documents you can start from: the ones Harmonity provides, the ones you have saved, and the ones your team shares. Starting from a template keeps drafts consistent, shortens review, and avoids relitigating clauses that were settled months ago.

Find the right one

Open Library → Template Library. Four controls narrow the list, and they combine:

Sections
All, Harmonity Library, My Templates and Team Templates. Start in All if you do not know where the template came from.
Search
Matches template names and descriptions across every section.
Category
Sales, Legal, HR, Procurement, Finance, IT & Security, Marketing, Operations or Other.
Sort
Recommended by default, or switch to Newest, A–Z or Most used. Most used is a good proxy for what your colleagues actually trust.

Preview before you commit

Selecting a template opens a preview rather than creating anything. Alongside the document itself you get the context whoever added it wrote down:

  • When to use this template — the situation it is meant for.
  • Key issues covered in this template — what it already handles, so you know what you do not need to add.
  • Notes from the creator — guidance from the person who saved it, plus its terms of use.

Use it

  1. Read the preview and confirm it is the right starting point.
  2. Select USE TEMPLATE. A new document is created in your current workspace from the template's content.
  3. The document opens in the editor. Complete the placeholders from the Fields tab, then edit as normal.

Common questions

What is the difference between a template and a normal document?

A template is a reusable starting point with placeholders where the details go. Creating a document from it leaves the template itself untouched.

USE TEMPLATE is greyed out.

A stored template needs a destination workspace, so select one first. Generate-on-demand templates do not, because they route to the drafting screen instead.

Can I edit a template after creating a document from it?

Yes, and the two are independent — editing the template does not change documents already created from it, and editing the document does not change the template.

Why can't I see a template a colleague mentioned?

Templates follow workspace access. If it is under Team Templates for a workspace you do not belong to, ask to be added to that workspace.
